I was meant to be at the other end of the building but due to semi-overflowing crowd size and lateness - i had to stand for a while.
The wrestlers in both the Stardom and TJPW shows enjoyed the city. There was none of the bad Philadelphia that both our and Japanese media showcased but in someways thats because there was a presence in the city. The City will be ready for other major events in the future - from the massive anniversary event of America and The World Cup and All Star Game - all in the same week. Momo and Kid were having so much fun. Syuri and Saki were too. All of the bought so much food, and gifts because in Japanese culture - you have to show the things you bought from other towns, cities, and countries. The other part of stardom’s wrestlers were in Asia so when they all come back three days before their major event - it will be such a party of what they seen all over the world.
Taro Okada like Tony Khan has proved themselves to be better than imagined. Taro Okada has something in his heart that might make Stardom stronger and that’s high praise coming from me.
Speaking about AEW - I did see Will Washington on the show, all business. Had to be.
The reason that six woman tag was profound was simple - the massive aftermath on all sides. Mina had a match on Friday at Temple University’s Liacouras Center, which again had her in a 6 woman tag this time with Mailka and Mei Seira, in which they won. then Mariah May showed up - she was in the same show facing against Kohgo, in which they drank and after Mariah and Mina reminisced. Mina was not done with Tam, as Mina faced off against her in a tag match as Tam teamed up with Aja Kong at The Spark Joshi Show. Then AEW made the match between Anna Jay and Mariah May official which will have major implications to everybody’s storyarc between Stardom and AEW’s Women’s Division (and the men’s as well in a way) Mayu with Konami chose two people to be their tag partners in the same Spark Joshi Show and those two were impressive - so much in fact you might see them on NJPW Strong, Stardom and AEW as well.
If people really dont recognize it - Mercedes move to AEW had changed EVERYTHING and forced every bodies cards on the River Flop. Sporting Productions can no longer sit on their heels - as two of their biggest storylines for the men are heading to its close. Rhea Ripley next big challenge is Jade. Bailey had to DIG DEEP because Io is no joke even at a third of the speed. TJPW can show up. Athena is the best female wrestler in America bar none. Sporting Productions cannot screw with Giulia and AEW knows they got MORE Cards on the table. Wild times ahead.
I wish the city of Philadelphia realize that they need to find leaders that allow the same joy that these women found with this city. They didn’t change a law to do it, but too many of the leaders in a grand majority of American cities do not get it. Its part of the reasons why. There will come a time where certain people will confront these leaders and ask them how can you make these cities great for people to visit not just that area - but the whole town without being in fear? And if that isn’t possible - then what do we need a city for? Is it just to work? To have parties and do party favors? To see the human experimentation? What is a city now?
I wish that the show was longer. I didn’t want to leave, I wanted to see the other wrestlers and I want Taro Okada to think about bigger chances with Stardom in the US. I will go if i get the chance if it ever get back here.
Mina, AZM and Konami are still in the US at the moment - Konami still in Philly as well as Mina and AZM will be in Chicago later in the week.
One last thing about how long that it took to do this. I had the main article and this errata essay to be scheduled to be all done by Tuesday of this week. But now i get the issues people are having with this “internet”. It just doesn’t work outside of Tik-Tok (which I will never use) Instagram should just work. It doesn’t. Doesn’t save, do anything - its a meat market instead of posting pictures. The underlining tech works, everything else is borked by the algos. Most of all of these websites and apps do not work because of same. Even substack has these issues. The internet is literally collapsing under its own weight and we are the losers for it. I would love one day to actually make a small amount of cash here because it takes way too much of my energy to do this - but the way everybody handles money now on the net is asinine from the way Credit Card payments are handled and what is allowed and not allowed on down. Even if we could find away to have a paper trail of safe money so it can be sent via a PO Box etc (Money Orders and the like from the Postal Service) somebody in San Fran will still fuck it all up. Its a fucking tragic and travesty on a scale that should destroy this monstrosity but doesn’t because of the success of the OnlyFans model and Models.
