A very unusual upset in the second week of Group Play. Sheriff Tiraspol defeats Real Madrid in a famous day. This team is from Monrovia in a unrecognized breakaway state. They win over Madrid 2 to 1. This was a upset not foreseen. Fantastic play from a team that barley made it. In the NFL its every given Sunday. For Soccer it always a Famous Day and this may be one of the biggest ones. Sheriff won at Madrid’s home terf which makes it even more shocking. The reverberations of the “Super League” is still being felt.
Liverpool makes quick work of Porto, Manchester United at the death gets its first win in the group stages. Juventus wins over Chelsea, Barca look absolutely hopeless and the manager is about to get fired. Manchester City couldnt handle PSG even in its weakened state. Next games are October 19 and 20th.
Premier League Match Day Six
Everton v Manchester United - the thing that really shocks me is that they know Ronado can score but he needs to be allowed to dominate the last half of the field. This is called feeding the beast in certain terms. Its ok when he can win. Hes a winner. Just feed him the ball and let the magic happen. Everton are good this year. 1-1 draw.
Brighton v Arsenal - Brighton had their chances, but symied by rain they couldnt get the ball in. We thought that Arsenal was dead but they turned it around. Brighton had better pace all throughout the game. Their game is sound but can they break through to at least the Europa league?
Liverpool v Man City- The Game was everything you hope for but it needed a winner. Salah with is passing and unselfish play is a wonder. Man City keeps finding ways to keep it close. A tie is fine but run this back later in the season.
Here are the Confidential Standings for The Premier League Matchday Number 6
Well, it is over for Philadelphia’s chances. Atlanta with the mercy killing, winning their fourth straight NL EAST Title Pennant. Philadelphia’s injuries caught up to them and the pitching fell apart. Philadelphia head to Miami to end the season, Atlanta sharpens their axes against the Mets.
The Playoffs are pretty much set with exception of the wild card. Here is how it will shape up:
AL Wild Card Game: Yankees vs. Red Sox
NL Wild Card Game: Dodgers vs. Cardinals
ALDS: Astros vs. White Sox
ALDS: Rays vs. AL Wild Card Game winner
NLDS: Brewers vs. Braves
NLDS: Giants vs. NL Wild Card Game winner
The Collapse of the Padres is nothing short of terrifying.

Joel Embid in a wide ranging interview, stated that Jimmy Butler and Al Horford were traded to get Ben Simmons minutes and points.
He stated to the effect that Embid changed the way he played his game to accommodate Ben’s Playing style in the hopes that Mr Simmons would improve on his game.
Embid, stated that what Simmons is doing is “Borderline Disrespectful” and that he hopes that an agreement to come to camp before the season starts will be in the offering.
The Sixers are withholding funds until Simmons comes to camp. 6 Million is being held, with no end in sight. The drama continues.

ESPN has a new NHL show - called The Point that will air on ESPN 2.
TNT Aired their first Hockey Game. A lot of the NBC folks from the 16 seasons on the latter network, moved here. It isnt bad, but it needs work. They have a week and the build out is split between AEW (which shares both NHL and NBA Broadcasting Tools from Turner), NBA and NHL. A good problem to have but seriously…
In Woman s Soccer, The Athletic has reported abuse incidents concerning a coach in the league, to the point of sexual coercion. This has lead into games being canceled, the two coaches accused being fired, and now the NWSL Chairwoman stepping down from the scandal. It is a horrendous black eye to the league as US Soccer helped bring along the league in 2013 and were some of the reasons why the US Woman’s Soccer Division wanted to be paid just as much as the men’s division were (and that has been a fraught legal issue even as mentioned here)
